The 5Cities Homeless Coalition, in partnership with San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Paul Teixeira, is holding a forum to discuss homelessness in our community, Tuesday, July 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
Joining in the discussion will be Patti Diefenderfer, President of 5Cities Homeless Coalition; Dee Torres, Director of Homeless Services Community Action Partnership of SLO Co. (CAPSLO); and Tillman Moen, President of El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO). The event is free and open to the public and will provide important information about the difficulties facing our homeless neighbors.
The Forum will open with a short video “Homeless Not Hopeless (In the Happiest Place in America)" produced by Highlight Media, which describes the plight of area residents who are homeless, and will continue with a guest panel discussion about the challenges facing our community, and what steps we may take. Space for the event was generously donated by St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, located at 301 Trinity Avenue in Arroyo Grande.
The church is at the top of the hill on Trinity Avenue, which is located off of Traffic Way Ext., just south of the Mobil Gas Station before the freeway on ramp. Those unfamiliar with the church location can visit the following website for a map and directions http://www.saintbarnabas-ag.org/maptxt.htm Please help spread the word.
