Volunteers and monetary donations are needed to operate our Warming Center for those needing shelter from the storm this winter. The Center will open on nights when temperatures are predicted to fall below 40 degrees or when chance of rain is predicted at 50% or greater. The Center will be located again with our partners at Hillside Church, 1935 Newport Ave.!
Volunteers are needed for evening shifts of varying lengths from 4 p.m. to midnight, and for day-time shifts to assist with logistics, such as shopping, laundry, stocking, etc. For volunteer shift descriptions and to sign up, go to VolunteerSLO.org or contact Volunteer Coordinator Jasmine Smith, [email protected]. Please help us get the word out to community members who want to volunteer or donate. Print our flyer or visit our GoFundMe page to make a donation!A variety of supplies and non-perishable food times are detailed on our Wish List. If you or your group can assist in providing any of these items, it would be most appreciated. We have between 10 and 40 guests a night when we are open, so we are in constant need of supplies and assistance with laundry, set-up, etc. On the Wish List you'll see clothing requests for new socks, underwear, sweat pants and sweat shirts. Due to storage limits, we are unable to accept other clothing donations at this time. Thank you for helping your neighbors in need this winter!
